Remembering, reliving and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world is a joyous event in the world over. The colorful celebrations of Christmas is indeed a most awaited day for all at Vijay Marie and also the families of Uma Nagar colony. The air of Vijay Marie College of Nursing resounds with the songs of angels. In the song the retelling of the story of Christmas and the reenactment of the birth of Jesus, entry of the Royal visitors from the East are all part of this great celebration. Students enjoy games, fete and lucky dip.

The dragon of HIV AIDS is devouring the entire globe at an alarming speed shattering the dreams and hopes of many families and nations. Therefore the "World AIDS Day" is kept up with much meaning. The students conduct awareness programme in the neighboring slums and schools. Workshops / Seminars / Symposium are conducted for staff and students of this Institution as well as for other Institutions of the twin cities.

A formal welcome to the freshers is indeed a warm gesture of love, care and concern from the seniors. It is also a reassurance from the seniors, that they are there to help them in all their needs. The senior batches of students, as a welcoming gesture, organize a cultural programme and games and contests to choose 'Miss fresher'.

After two to three months of classes and examinations,this memorable ceremony marks the official entry of the new batch of students into the Institutional family and profession. Students attired in their spotless white uniform enter in a procession. And during the Eucharist celebration they go in procession to the stage and light their little lamp from the main lamp and recite the Nurses' pledge before the assembly.

Birthday of Miss Florence Nightingale the founder of Modern Nursing is on 12th May and is celebrated as the International Nurses' Day. Florence Nightingale known as the "Lady with the lamp" did sacrifice her life in caring for the soldiers during Crimean war and gave a foundation of Evidence Based Nursing practice. Nursing practice based on scientific knowledge.

With a sense of achievement and sincere gratitude the outgoing batch are overwhelmed with mixed feelings of joys and deep sadness to part with familiar surroundings and persons.
