It was the grace of God that inspired The Society of the Sisters of charity of Secunderabad province to start a College of Nursing. Therefore, with initiatives of Vijay Marie Hospital & Vijay Marie School of Nursing, the College of Nursing was established.
Vijay Marie Hospital, the parent Institution had a humble beginning in the year 1948. It is a well-equipped, 200 bedded general hospital, known for its efficient, affordable and compassionate services to the poor and middle class population of this twin cities and also from surrounding districts over the past 68 years. In the year 1973, Vijay Marie School of Nursing was established and has a history of 43 years of quality professional nursing education. We are committed to educate the young hearts to handle life and death, to take responsibility with commitment, knowledge and dedication.
After the usual procedures and inspection by the Government of A.P, Dr. NTR University of health Sciences, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and A.P Nursing Council, Hyderabad, we were given the permission to start the College. Thus, the dream became a reality in the year 2003. The first batch of students were inducted for the Academic year 2003-2004 and the same batch has completed the Degree with flying colors in December 2007. The thirteenth batches of students have commenced their study for the academic 2015 – 16.
Another significant milestone for the institution was the commencement of the M.Sc (N) programme in the year 2013 with a sanction for 20 students in five specialties. The 10 students of the first batch of M.Sc (N) have completed their post-graduation with an over whelming victory.
With the blessings of the Almighty, Vijay Marie College of Nursing stands as the realization of a dream that had been in the hearts and minds of all our pioneers, who have watered and nurtured the Institution. It is their relentless hard work and dedicated toil, which have brought our College to the heights of quality as it stands today.
Since its inception in 2003 Vijay Marie College of Nursing (VMCON) has progressively grown into its present strength and scope.
Vijay Marie college of Nursing has given me a good formation and high standard of education. But here we have the best of facilities, a team of faculty with caliber, wisdom and commitment.
